In compliance with AYSO National Rules and Regulations, the Regional Board of Directors of AYSO Area Q announces the opening of application period for the position of Area Director (AD) for a 3 year term. The position of Area Director is the person charged with the daily operation of the local AYSO Area. The current term for AYSO Area Director for Area Q will end April 30, 2026. The new term for the AD voted in will begin May 1, 2026.
The process is to have open nominations (via email) to the Nomination Committee (NC) via the Nomination Committee Chair (NCC), Bill Malecki. The NC will then vet each of the candidates for eligibility and as a volunteer in AYSO in good standing. At the conclusion of the open nomination time period, the NC will send the candidates applications to the Voting Members of Area Board. The Section Director will then conduct an election to vote on who will be the Area Director. Once that is complete, the nominee will then be submitted to the AYSO National Board of Directors for approval.
If you are interested in running, or would like to suggest someone for that position, please let us know no later than 10 PM on Wednesday February 19 at [email protected] (please put AD NOMINATION in the subject line regarding anything related to this election). Qualifications to be eligible to nominate yourself, or be nominated for this position, are that you are (preferably) a current or past Regional Commissioner or Board member or a registered volunteer, in good standing with the organization. Eligible candidates will go through a formal nomination process and election by the Regional Commissioners at the March 23rd meeting.
