Registration: For all classes please visit the listed website for more details, registration, and contact information. Pre-registration is not required unless specified. Classes with low enrollment may be cancelled at the class start time or a couple of days before. Unless otherwise noted, please sign up for the class in advance through eayso.org. Eayso.org has been upgraded. If you are using Internet Explorer (70% of visitors) the browser often encounters an error and terminates, although FireFox has been working. We hope they fix this soon. Location: It is normally advantageous to attend a course offered in your own region, as the class will be closer, you will have more opportunity to meet coaches in your city, and will get region-specific information about your region’s policies and practices. You may attend any AYSO course anywhere to receive coach training and certification. Cost: Many classes have a fee associated with them. For classes within Area Q: These fees are for those volunteers from outside Area Q. If you are a volunteer from outside Area Q, please bring a check (no cash please) made out to "AYSO Area 11-Q" or to the region conducting the training. Area Q volunteers do not need to bring a check for any training within the area as all regions have agreed to pay directly any costs of their volunteers attending classes within the area. Area Q volunteers are those from one of the regions listed on our Area Q Regions page. Be aware that to be covered under the Volunteer Protection Act you must be certified and trained by attending at least two classes: (1) Safe Haven Certification and (2) Age specific training. For example, if you coach in a U7 or U8 division you must attend a U8 course, a U12 course will only cover those coaching in U12. Also note that an intermediate or advanced certificate does not confer all lower age-specific certifications. Therefore a coach who holds a U12 and intermediate certificate and wishes to coach U10, must then get a U10 certificate. Most regions hold to this as minimum coaching requirements. Area Q ACE Program |

The ACE (Area Coaches Education) program is to provide continuing training beyond the standard and required AYSO coaching courses. These clinics are intended to educate a wide range of coaches. Most coaches have never played soccer and sometimes feel awkward when teaching. Coaches will participate thus learn to play game and feel more knowledgeable. Each clinic will last approximately 2 hours. Program will consist of Intermediate and Advanced instruction and playing time. Participating coaches should wear appropriate soccer attire including shin guards and be registered as a volunteer with AYSO. ACE Functional Training (PDF) FUNCTIONAL TRAINING This is the most exciting type of training a coach can teach. It means the 'functions of a player during the game'. It is preferably taught from 10 year olds up to college level, of course with a variance of difficulty. I teach primary 'Functions of a Goalkeeper, building a Defense, playing out of the back, functions of a Midfielder and functions of a Striker – plus. There is a method in teaching Functional Training as there is in teaching Techniques and Tactics. Once you learn the method 'soccer coaching' begins to be a brand new game and you will reap rewards for your team. Join me at Jean Woodard Field in Yorba Linda, Ca. 92887, Sunday March 11th, 1pm till 4 pm. If you would like to participate please bring a ball and wear soccer cleats.
